How to Make Homemade Loaf Bread Recipe?

  • Mix dry yeast, sugar and warm water in a large bowl. Wait 5-10 minutes for the yeast to activate.
  • Then add the flour and salt.
  • Start mixing with a wooden spoon to make the dough come together.
  • Start kneading the combined dough on a wooden surface where you sprinkle plenty of flour. Knead for 5 minutes by folding it inside. Add flour when necessary and give it its final shape.
  • Put the kneaded dough in the bowl and cover it with a kitchen towel or cling film. Ferment in a warm environment for at least 1 hour and wait for the dough to double. You can ferment for a shorter time in warm and hot environments.
  • After the first leavening process is over, we knead the bread dough by closing it like an envelope from the top and bottom. With this folding technique, we trap air bubbles and obtain a more homogeneous dough.
  • Roll the kneaded dough with both hands, lightly press the ends and form a sharp shape.
  • Put it on the tray where you laid greaseproof paper and let it ferment for another 45 minutes by covering it for the second ferment.

  • After the second fermenting is finished, lightly rub water on the top of the bread dough with a brush or in your hand. Then sprinkle 1 tablespoon of flour. Put it in the oven at 200 degrees, which you have preheated, on the middle shelf. While putting the tray to give moisture, throw 2-3 pieces of ice into the oven and close the lid immediately.
  • Cook for about 30 minutes until the top is browned. Let it rest uncovered for at least 15 minutes on the wire rack after removing it from the oven. Then you can serve it by slicing.
